The underpass carries the A638 Ossett Bypass over an extension of Eldon Street which forms an access road to farms. The reinforced concrete box structure was built around 1971 by the West Riding of Yorkshire County Council Highways and Bridges Department. The Resident Engineer was John Firth M.I.C.E.
