St Cuthbert's Cave
St Cuthbert's Cave
Next to St Cuthbert's Way. Supposedly either a resting place for Cuthbert when he travelled between Melrose and Lindisfarne, or for the monks carrying his corpse when fleeing the Viking raiders.
Wikipedia gives 'Cuddy's Cave' as an alternative local name, but Brian has pointed out that this name should more properly refer to a cave 7 km south-west of here NU0031 : Cuddy's Cave
