Scottish Coal at Killoch
In East Ayrshire, alongside the A70 Edinburgh-Ayr trunk road. The mine began production in 1960 and closed in 1987 - at its peak production in 1965 it was the first Scottish mine to produce 1 million tons of coal in a year. It is now used as a coal preparation plant for neighbouring collieries.
