TF0252 : Doe tractor ploughing

taken 12 years ago, 3 km from Cranwell, Lincolnshire, England

Doe tractor ploughing
Doe tractor ploughing
The iconic Doe tractor, two Fordson Majors harnessed together with a unique turntable mechanism and duo controls for clutch, gear selection, throttle and the stop control allow for power with traction that tractors did not have in the late 1950's and early 60's when these machines were introduced.
A ploughing event under the banner of Ford & Ford Conversions took place on 500 acres of farmland in Lincolnshire. All the tractors taking part were Ford engined and represented all the marques that used the engine skid units.
