SK8163 : Gravel wharf at Besthorpe

taken 12 years ago, near to Carlton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, England

Gravel wharf at Besthorpe
Gravel wharf at Besthorpe
There are sand and gravel extraction quarries off to the left. A conveyor brings the extracted material here, from where it is dropped into barges. The river seems very narrow at this point, and would seem even narrower if a barge were loading.
