This gem survived as an isolated farm for four centuries and has been restored to something approaching its heyday as a living museum. The staff pose as servants and guide visitors around the house, through each important room from kitchen to bedrooms to stewards office, through back stairs and the main stairway, holding conversations with you in the language of the time. It's as disconcerting as it is engaging but serves to bring the place to life, has impact and sits in your memory long after you've forgotten about all other tourist attractions.

It's also fun to try to catch 'the servants' out by bringing in modern references or trying to get them to drop their front for a second. You will fail, I guarantee it.

Their personas are a real feat of agile thinking, strong role-play, thorough research and commitment to the value of the whole exercise. Bravo.
