Standing Stone, Beragh
Standing Stone, Beragh
Pictured along Laragh Road. When you are looking for standing stones, you would expect them to be standing on a prominent spot in a field, usually in an elevated position, pole shaped and a couple of metres high. This one is wedge shaped, about a metre high and embedded in amongst the thorn hedge. I had passed by this one several times and couldn't locate it but thanks to a local woman, I was able to get it. In the summer time when there is more growth, it is difficult to see.

The picture wasn't helped by the fact that photographic conditions were so difficult caused by the sharp sun.
