TL0150 : Bromham Mill - east hurst frame

taken 11 years ago, near to Bromham, Bedford, England

Bromham Mill - east hurst frame
Bromham Mill - east hurst frame
The eastern wheel drove three sets of stones but has long since disappeared, leaving the pit wheel lose in the bottom of its pit. It is obvious that it originally drove two sets of stones with the stone nuts supported on wooden tentering beams. The orange cast iron structure supports a later stone nut driving the third set of stones and tentered with a screw at the right end.
