Tile kiln near Sillywrea Farm

I am grateful to the farmer at Sillywrea for his kind permission to visit these kilns. He told me that the kilns used to produce tiles and clay pipes (for field drains); that the cottage (to the left in the photo) used to be the works office; and that there used to be several other tile kilns in the vicinity. The location of the kiln is shown in NY8161 : Farmland east of Sillywrea Farm and NY8161 : Farmland east of Sillywrea Farm (2).
