taken 12 years ago, 3 km from East Tilbury, Thurrock, England

Path towards Tilbury Power Station
Path towards Tilbury Power Station
This path leads from Coalhouse Fort along the River Thames towards the power station.
One of the chimneys of the power station, can just be seen in the background.

The path will eventually be incorporated into National Cycle Network 13 (once the path through the East Tilbury Marshes is improved).

Across the River Thames is Gravesend in Kent
National Cycle Route 13

This route will connect Tower Bridge in London with Fakenham in Norwich. Passing through East London close to the Thames, Route 13 then heads north from Tilbury to Chelmsford in Essex. After a stretch on National Route 1 (also part of EuroVelo 2) National Route 13 resumes at Colchester and continues north to rejoin National Route 1 just south of Fakenham in Norfolk.
