Stevington Windmill - the support structure
Stevington Windmill - the support structure
This is looking almost vertically up from the round house. The cross trees are seen at the bottom and carry the vertical post that passes through the bottom of the buck to a bearing on a cross beam (crown tree) on the first level in the buck. The post is supported by four angled quarter bars. At the top running from left to right are the two shear beams that form a collar bearing round the post and support the floor of the buck.
