Linhay, Weston Plats
The information board explains that this linhay, recently restored by the National Trust, was one of many used for storage and sheltering working donkeys during the time that the cliffside at Weston Plats was used for market gardening in the C19 and C20; see also SY1688 : Path into Weston Plats. Several sections of the sloping cliffs along the south coasts of Devon and Cornwall are dotted with basic weekend and holiday chalets, many of which must be former linhays, or on the site of them.
