taken 11 years ago, near to Warton, Lancashire, England

Cotoneaster on Warton Crag Quarry
Cotoneaster on Warton Crag Quarry
The last of the day's sun accentuates the red colour of these cotoneaster bushes growing on the ledges of the rock face. They have probably seeded there with the aid of the birds that use the quarry as a nesting ground. Note the long vertical drill marks from the original quarry working.
