SK2278 : Old leat

Old leat
Old leat
This old leat still has water in it and perhaps it still serves its purpose. I assumed that it was made for use of the miners who worked in the ground around where this photo was taken. However, the OS map clearly shows that it went on round the hill to the farmstead known as Leam.
