Usually associated with mountains and moorland, drystone walls are also found in the lower land of the Co Down drumlin belt. The photograph shows some incomplete walls on the western side of the Ballynahinch Road at a height of about 350ft. The drumlins on this side of the road are not as nearly as pronounced and rounded as those on the other side – see J3958 : Drumlin and trees, Saintfield. This is the same area as seen in J3958 : Fields enclosed by dry-stone walls. (November 2005). See also J3958 : Drystone walls near Saintfield (2).
