Stratford to Moreton Tramway
Stratford to Moreton Tramway
A horse-drawn tramway was built to connect Stratford-upon-Avon to Moreton in 1826. To access the town a special bridge was built across the Avon. This is the only piece of rolling stock and rail track that remains. Plans were submitted to convert the tramway into a railway, but these were rejected by the local Members of Parliament as being too dangerous.
