West Basset Mine - Pascoe's Shaft
West Basset Mine - Pascoe's Shaft
These two engine both served the same shaft and are arranged at a right angle. The bigger house closest was the pumping engine house and the outdoor end of the beam hung over the edge of the shaft to operate the pumps. The smaller house contained the winding engine and was set back to allow a proper distance for the winding ropes to work onto the headframe.
