Low Dye House Cottages (now just called Dye House Cottages) are on the right side of the road, and Dye House NY9358 : Juniper Dye House further away, on the left. The 1st Edition OS map c1865 shows a narrow bridge here with the road from Steel winding down to a ford just to its east. A bridge in its current location is shown by 1895.
