The lighthouse was repainted in 2012. The cast-iron lighthouse was built in 1862. In September 2012, Princess Anne unveiled a plaque to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the lighthouse.Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station is just visible on the skyline - on the headland picture right. Bristol Channel paddle steamers still sometimes embark and disembark tourists on this pier in the summer.
