TQ3783 : The Olympic Stadium along The Greenway
taken 12 years ago, near to Stratford, Newham, England

The Greenway is the name given in the early 21st century to the path along the top of the London Northern Outfall Sewer from Stratford Marsh TQ371839 to Beckton TQ439820, a distance of approximately 8km. For most of its route the path has the status of a permissive footpath but is also well used by cyclists without hindrance. The presence of the sewer beneath is not made prominent, but one gets an occasional smell of it. The path is unlit and therefore not a safe place to be at night, but generally safe enough in daytime.
This is a sporting complex is being used for the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, situated to the east of the city adjacent to the Stratford City development. It contains the athletes' Olympic Village and several of the sporting venues including the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre. The park is overlooked by ArcelorMittal Orbit, an observation tower and Britain's largest piece of public art. After the Olympics, the park will be known as Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.
