Bridge over The Cut, Bretton
Bridge over The Cut, Bretton
Apparently the decorative lake at Bretton silted badly, and there was regular flooding, so a canal - The Cut - was dug alongside, with levels controlled by use of weirs. This bridge carries the footpath over the Cut at the western end of the lake. The water is essentially the river Dearne, though part of the flow passes through the lake.
