Owl box
Owl box
A special next box for Tawny Owls, intended to replicate hollow trees. These were put up in the 1990s and have been very successful, although several are occupied by barn owls. Bourne Woods has a large population of Tawny Owls, which can be heard calling most evenings at dusk. Their success is almost entirely down to active conservation measures.
