Heighington railway station, County Durham
Opened in 1825 by the Stockton & Darlington Railway, this was apparently where the first steam locomotive, "Locomotion Number 1" was put on the rails for the first time. The brown building to the right in the trees was formerly part of the station and at the time this image was taken, was the "Locomotion Number 1" pub.
