Gipsy Moth IV - Greenwich Pier
Gipsy Moth IV - Greenwich Pier
This yacht was built in 1966 specifically to sail single handed around the globe. Sir Francis Chichester was knighted after his journey, which broke a number of records. After his death in 1972, the yacht was put on permanent display in a dry dock at Greenwich. The Gipsy Moth IV remained on display there for over 30 years, before being restored. The location at Greenwich was near the Cutty Sark.
