Geograph - photograph every grid square

This area saw one of the early forays into mechanised uplift for skiers. The Nissan hut (ruin) NO1072 : Creagan Bheithe Ruin was the bottom station for an old Fordson tractor fixed to the ground whose power take-off wheel was the mover of people. I am not sure whether this or the Weasel (small tracked vehicle used by Hillary in Antarctica amongst other things) on the north side of Carn an Tuirc was the earlier. The earliest uplift was via surplus military parachutes I believe.
I was witness to the Fordson being re-started prior to removal for restoration - quite a feat after decades unused. I had hitched a lift with the lone enthusiast to have a skive in the hills before an exam at Uni - after the re-start I got a lift back as far as Cupar, I think.
I spent a dry if drafty night in the long-deserted hut some other time in the 70's.
