Boulders and groynes near Worthing, West Sussex
Boulders and groynes near Worthing, West Sussex
Looking from East Worthing (near the former Half Brick public house) towards Brighton and Telscombe Cliffs.

Erosion and long-shore drift here are dealt with by the maintenance of wooden groynes and the import of huge boulders. The top of the beach profile consists of pebbles and larger stones; lower down it is sandy.
