Hale War Memorial Triangle
Hale War Memorial Triangle
Hale Great War Memorial is sited on the green triangle in the centre of the village. The memorial was built and erected in 1920 on a small piece of, what was then, waste ground. As High Street meets Church End.
The dedication reads:
IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR KING AND COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919
Where did work take you today? It took me to Hale Village which used to be the most southerly village in the old county of Lancashire with Hale Head Lighthouse as the most southerly point.
