Lismore Canal on Ballyrafter Flats
I think this was taken from the little accommodation bridge. The one lock canal was built in 1814 by the 6th Duke of Devonshire 'the Bachelor Duke' to enable them to bring in the Derbyshire Gritstone with which the Castle is faced. The canal was reported to be in use until 1922.
