St Mary's is in the Bristol West Deanery of the Bristol Diocese of the Church of England
and forms the Benefice and Parish of Shirehampton.
The church was consecrated on January 15th 1930, exactly two years after the previous St Mary's church on this site was destroyed by fire on the morning of Sunday January 15th 1928.
