Train leaving Bishop Auckland, 1986
Train leaving Bishop Auckland, 1986
A diesel multiple unit leaving Bishop Auckland station in April 1986. The station had been a junction, with several platforms. By the time this photo was taken, the only passenger trains still serving Bishop Auckland were a branch line service from Darlington. Only one platform remained in use. Two months after this image was taken, this part of the station was closed and the land sold for redevelopment. A new platform was opened nearby.
