Opened in 1841 by the Taff Vale Railway on its line from Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil.
View north towards Pentre-Bach and Merthyr. The line was singled in 1970, the remains of the former southbound platform can just be seen to the right. In 2023, the railway line was electrified.
