Path on north bank of River Tyne
View east towards Ryton Island. Ryton Ferry House can be seen through the trees on the south bank. The river banks were realigned and strengthened between 1898 and 1912 by the Tyne Improvement Commissioners using iron slag from Spencers Iron Works in Newburn.
