St Cuthbert's Cave in the snow
St Cuthbert's Cave in the snow
Looking towards a snow covered St Cuthbert's Cave. The shallow cave is reputed to be one of the places that the monks carrying St Cuthbert's body from Lindisfarne to Durham Cathedral rested for a night during their journey. The cave, and the area of woodland immediately surrounding the cave is owned by the National Trust.
