Winter by the Kinnel Water
Winter by the Kinnel Water
The Kinnel Water rises in the hills west of Moffat and joins the River Annan near Lochmaben. The land here beside the river is used for grazing. It is prone to flooding, but at the time the photo was taken the water level was fairly low, although it had been raised for several weeks previously due to the amount of rain during that time. However, less than 24 hours later, after a rapid thaw and torrential rain, this beautiful snowy scene looked completely different! See NY0884 : The Kinnel Water in flood.
