Loading Johnson's pottery, Imperial Works
From about 1970 to 1986, Johnson Brothers' pottery used three boats to carry part-made pottery four miles along the Caldon Canal between two of their sites. This reduced the number of breakages, compared with using lorries. The boats were called Milton Maid, Milton Princess and Milton Queen. For more information, see Link
