Grade I listed.
The church dates from around 1200, and consists of a west tower, nave with north and south aisles, chancel and south porch. It is built of ragstone, puddingstone and sandstone. It has tiled roofs with leaded roof on the north aisle.
The west tower is from the 13th or early 14th century with a later Belfry. The Belfry stage is weather boarded with a pyramidal slate roof and weathervane. There are eight bells.
The south aisle dates from the early 14th century, the western part is continuous with the tower. There are two 19th-century windows in a 14th century style to the west of the porch and one to the east
The nave has a Crown post roof which dates from about 1450, the north piers are alternate round and octagonal, the south piers are all octagonal and have capitals carved with naturalistic leaves.
The south porch is early 14th century with a parvis chamber. There is a small north-west stair turret in the angle with the nave.
The south chancel Chapel, or Lady Chapel is 14th century, and was partly rebuilt after a fire in 1554. It contains the remains of a tomb recess from the 14th century. There is a modern oak screen decorated with apples, hops and cherries.
The chancel dates from around 1200, and was restored in 1868. The east window contains stained-glass by Patrick Reyntiens, and was made in 1962.
The north chancel Chapel was built in the 15th century and is a fine example of perpendicular style.
The font was replaced in 1662 and bears the initials of two churchwardens. It has a huge oak cover made in the Jacobean style.
