In this view, the yellow notice-board at the base of the right hand tower read “Advance warning, this road will be closed on 17/02/13 for one day”. This was to allow for a survey to be carried out on the building. Canterbury City Council implemented a 12-month trial which started on 27 March 2012 and which aimed to tackle the growing problem of traffic congestion Link

However, the trial was not a success as it caused massive congestion and an e-petition was submitted by 1036 people setting out the reasons why
