NT0973 : Waste Land

taken 11 years ago, near to Burnside, West Lothian, Scotland

Waste Land
Waste Land
I am rather puzzled to know why this piece of land looks like waste ground. None of the historic maps I've looked at shows any industrial use, and it was under cultivation in the 1950s. The tracks are made by off-road motorcyclists.
