Goring Lock & Weir from the River
Goring Lock & Weir from the River
Approaching Goring Lock from the North.

Late October and the River had been in flood for days, we had been waiting for it to go off Red boards ( non navigable) and onto Yellow boards ( Stream decreasing & navigable with caution)
The Lock keepers said we could go that morning as they were taking the red board down for 4 hours as yet more rain was expected!..

It was a fast trip..especially in a Narrowboat and the approach to this lock was a bit tricky as I had to keep over to the left bank to avoid the pull of the weir.

The Lock House looked lovely though especially with the Red tree in front of it and the hill with mist rising behind.
