In the dry dock one can see the paddle steamer Medway Queen being reconstructed to the original works' drawings with the aid of considerable grant aid. The original steam engine is now in the vessel and the finished vessel will incorporate various original fixtures and fittings but the hull will be a complete replica. The group responsible for this reconstruction is carefully avoiding the use of the word replica but I find it hard to do so.

However, don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to riding on a 'new' paddle steamer as soon as it is possible.
