in the distance with Scotland's disgrace (Edinburgh's Shame Link Link Link ) perched on the top alongside the old Royal Observatory and Nelson's Monument. Link which has a timeball on top so that mariners could set their timepieces each day at 1pm. They would be too far away to hear the one o'clock gun.
The clock of the Balmoral Hotel can be seen centre left in the distance (formerly known as The North British Hotel). Why not just look at the clock I hear someone asking. ;)
