The view from Hunters Hill
The view from Hunters Hill
Hunters Hill Quarry closed in 1982 after being worked for more than 200 years. Since closure, the quarry has regenerated naturally into a wildlife haven. It is now owned by the West Lancashire District Council who have created footpaths, wheelchair access, seating and picnic areas as well as scenic view points. On a good day, the view extends over the plain as far as the Lancashire coast.
