Post-industrial landscape
A major effort has been made to cover the spoil heaps that abound around the old mining and milling sites, so that a casual visitor would not realise what lay beneath, apart from the context of the carefully conserved buildings nearby. Green, mossy hummocks are the outcome. The mature pine trees probably predate the modern forestry operation, and may have seen the Cyffty Mine in operation as well.
