The tympanum above the Ionic columns on the Quay Street façade of Manchester's Opera House theatre (SJ8398 : Manchester Opera House) features this large bas-relief entitled "The Dawn of the Heroic Age" depicting a charioteer pulled by three horses with a second man following the chariot. It was sculpted by John Tanner and Son.

Beneath it is the inscription, "THE PLAY MIRRORS LIFE".
