Kimmeridge: Washing Ledge
Two people take a wander along the most prominent of the limestone ledges which jut out into Kimmeridge Bay - they do so carefully, since the seaweedy surface is very slippery.
Looking behind us (see
SY9079 : Kimmeridge: a dolomite stripe runs up the cliff), we can readily see how each ledge becomes a stripe in the cliffs, gradually ascending from ground level as here, towards the top of the cliffs on the western side of the bay.
