SP9312 : Grand Union Canal Walk off Marshcroft Lane
taken 9 years ago, near to New Mill, Hertfordshire, Great Britain

Grand Union Canal Walk off Marshcroft Lane
Much of the Grand Union Canal Walk (Long Distance Path) makes use of the canal's towpath, but this section runs parallel and adjacent to the canal on considerably higher ground. The canal is in a quite deep cutting to the right of this path as viewed. This section is just after the LDP has crossed Marshcroft Lane on the outskirts of Tring and is heading northwestwards towards Bulbourne. The view in the opposite direction from this point can be seen here SP9312 : Grand Union Canal Walk approaches Marshcroft Lane and the start of its continuation as a footpath on the other side of the lane, here SP9312 : Tree arch over footpath - the LDP swaps banks of the canal after crossing Marshcroft Lane, utilising the towpath as it heads further southeast.
