See NY9864 : Corstopitum - view of site from southwest corner. The English Heritage guide book says that "This sculpture of a lion crouching over a dead stag was probably originally carved as a grave monument. Later, a hole was cut through the lion's mouth and it was re-used as an ornamentmal fountain head".
