See NY9864 : Corstopitum - view of site from southwest corner. The English Heritage guide book says that the granaries "were designed to store large quantities of grain for long periods. A good circulation of air kept the grain cool and dry. The floors were supported on low stone sleeper walls and the interior both above and below the floors was ventilated".
