'Restricted byway' leading to Priskilly Forest
This inviting green lane is marked on the current Ordnance Survey Explorer map OL35 as a Road Used as a Public Path. These RUPPs were generally unsurfaced green lanes available for use by walkers, horse riders and cyclists and which might or might not carry vehicular rights. Problems were caused when they were used by off-road 2- or 4-wheeled vehicles which broke up the ground and destroyed wildlife habitat. The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 reclassified all remaining RUPPS as Restricted Bridleways permissable for walking, horseriding, cycling and for use by non-motorized vehicles.
