Middle Temple Lane, view northwards
Middle Temple Lane, view northwards
The large black doorway at the end of Middle Temple Lane leads out onto Fleet Street close to its confluence with The Strand. The main double doors were locked, but a small side door allowed access when we visited, unlike the similar doorway at the end of TQ3181 : Inner Temple Lane.
This area of London is famous for its legal associations, such as the solicitors and barristers office that can be seen on the left, and the specialist tailors on the right in this image.
Middle Temple is one of the four Inns of Court, the other three being Inner Temple, Gray's Inn and Lincoln's Inn.
For the view in the opposite direction down this lane (on a much sunnier day) see TQ3181 : Middle Temple Lane, view southwards
